The formation of the Shanghai Women’s Commercial and Savings Bank (1924–1955) uncovers legacy an institution founded by a group elite women. Although women’s bank had limited capital small business scope, it reflected contributions enterprising women to financial field when Chinese roles were evolving feminist rhetoric appealed economic independence. This article brings achievements such forefront, as key figures in development direction Bank.
